    Default ssl-1 and aps-1 covers

i tried replacing my neck aps-1 for an ssl-1 and the cover doesn't fit. i dont think they make bridge models of the ssl-1's so the spacing should be the same right? the dimensions are the same on the site for both pickups, but the aps-1 cover doesn't fit on the ssl1 at all. whats going on!?

If the APS 1 came from (or is currently in) a Fender, there's a chance it's a special one we made just for Fender with a narrower spacing. It may have been for the light ash models, and I don't know if there was anything else they used it on.

i bought 2 aps-1's about 5+ years ago (rw/rp and neck) i can't remember if i bought them new or not.
the covers have "seymour duncan" on them, the logo's the same size as on humbuckers if that makes any difference

If the SD covers are black with a silver screenprinted logo and it is possible that they were pre-owned, frank's Fender Light Ash suggestion is the likeliest source from which the pickups came.

Try measuring the distances between the polepiece hole centres on each cover.
