Default Pigeon poo ruins Kings of Leon gig

ROCK band Kings of Leon abandoned a US concert after just three songs because pigeons kept pooing on their heads. The musicians managed to struggle through the first part of their set despite being repeatedly splatted - but the final straw came when the bass player Jared Followill was hit near the mouth by one especially large dropping.
The band, from Nashville, made the decision to leave the stage in St Louis, Missouri, before they were completely covered in excrement.
Their publicist Andy Mendelsohn issued a statement blaming an infestation of pigeons living in the rafters of the Verizon Amphitheatre in the city.
"Jared was hit several times during the first two songs. On the third song, when he was hit in the cheek and some of it landed near his mouth, they couldn't deal any longer, " it said.

I thought it improved the show, I mean that way people didn't have to hear their terrible music.

Not as bad as Nickleback who were stoned off the stage once.

Thats BS, no one should have to put up with that $h*t, even if you don't like the show or the music, hey they paid to go so they obviously liked the music.

I say arrest the jack@sses that thru the rocks or shoot them either way problem solved.

And for the pigeon $h*t, who ever owns the theater is reasonable for it's up keep there for reasonable for the show.

apparently nickelback was booked for a death metal show, so really they were just asking for it - kinda like how fittysent was asking to be bottled at reading.

At least we didn't riot like the G n' R show back in the early 90's.

There are rumors they didn't want to play because of the heat, and I'm sure the pigeons crapping on them didn't help the situation.

However, Tom Petty played last weekend and Mike Campbell had to leave the stage for a few minutes due to dehydration/heat exhaustion and came back out and finished the set.

I don't know what to think honestly. I feel sorry for anyone who had to actually travel to see the show.

They should have filmed it and used it as part of their new movie Spinal Crap.

I bet they felt pretty sh!tty being dumped on though as well as embarrassing. Perhaps those pidgeons should be hired for X Factor and similar programs?

In Russia it's good luck to be crapped on by birds.

First, where's all the Kings of Leon hate coming from? Are they disliked now because they have a couple songs on heavy rotation?

Second, it's hard to really say whether they were wussing out or not without being there. While fans that paid for the show have the right to be mad, it's not really the band's obligation to keep playing while being pooped on. It's the venue's obligation to make the environment safe for the bands.

Third, no matter how you slice it, it's a funny reason for a gig to be cancelled.
