this is my watch, all occasions:

This is the automatic that I wear most of the time:
I wear this one pretty regularly, too:
Either can be had for well under $300.

I started wearing ESQ watches a few years ago. When I was young I loved Movado watches, but couldn't afford them. When I finally could afford them, they looked a little to modern and not quite my style. ESP is made by Movado, nice Swiss movement but more of a simple, classic look. I have one that is a chronograph in rose gold with a brown leather strap, when wearing brown or earth tone clothes, and an all steel model with a white face and blue hands. It really goes with anything. I have to have a date function on my watches, because I am notorious about forgetting the date.
I wear the all steel most of the time. I can get them anywhere from $299=$500 depending on style and if there is a sale on.
I also have my grandfathers pocket watch and his wristwatch. Both are very inexpensive models from the 70's, but they were his best so I cherish them. I don't wear them, just keep them running and take them out every now and then to remember him.
My rose gold is like the one below.
My other one looks like this.

First gift wifey ever got me... 10 years ago.
Only wristbands and batteries changed.
Keeps time like Bernard Purdie.
I've never licked it, but it's still "ticking".
I'm wearing it now, as a matter of fact.

I've always preferred simple, elegant watches. I lost my Uncle/Godfather to cancer in June, and was truly honoured to be left his Omega Seamaster Deville Automatic.
Looks almost exactly like this one, and it's my constant companion.

Have had this Citizen for a few years now:
But really only wear this Seiko:
Currently scouring eBay and ready to jump on the right 60's-70's Omega Seamaster, like the one above. Quite jealous of that!

Fifteen quid (twenty dollar) plastic-bodied Swatch. I am currently doing contract work on an oil refinery. It would be foolish to wear anything of any great monetary value.
Like some of you, I gave up wearing a watch for years. On-site, you gotta have some way of knowing when it is your tea break!
My main time piece is my grandfathers old Montine (Swiss automatic). It's older than I am and, apart from running a tad fast, never lets me down. May need a service a few years mind.
I also have a quartz rotary that I use if I think i'm going to get wet and my great grand fathers manual wind pocket watch for weddings and such.
It's a valve sporker... it sporks valves

What the heck is a "rotary"?
The more I think about it, the less ridiculous an all Stainless Rolex Submariner or Explorer II would be. They're classic designs that will hold value, perform perfectly and look good.
I also started to look a bit more in depth at the Oakleys... $1200! Forget that, for that much I'll get a Tag Heuer or Omega!

I have been a fan of Victorinox swiss army time pieces since my wife bought me one for my birthday 2 years ago. It is still in the same exactly condition. NEW. Even though I keep wearing and banging it on somewhere everyday. Not even a scratch. First week I am wearing it, I hit it pretty hard on a door and I saw all the artifacts on it. I wiped it of and there was nothing on the watch and a huge dent on the door![]()
