Default tv show: "What Would You Do?"

    Hey guys,

Just wanted to see if anyone here has been watching ABC's "What Would You Do?" on Sunday nights.

Yesterday's show was pretty interesting. They had an actress dress up in middle eastern style clothing and going into a bakery somewhere in Texas. The guy behind the counter was also an actor who refused service to her based on her appearance and ethnicity. He also used some choice words and name calling.

I was glad to see many customers stood up for the woman, and berated the male actor.

I was dissapointed to see some customers who supported the racially charged exchange.

They also perfom other experiments to test the public's reaction.

I thought the show was very thought provoking and a real eye-opener.

Check it out if you get the chance.
If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane.

You know, I'm a white guy living in an area of Toronto where white people are the minority. I am surrounded by Middle Eastern, Indian, Asian, and Black people every time that I go for groceries, get dry-cleaning, head down to the mall, etc. I haven't been treated poorly by anyone because of the colour of my skin or the way that I dress . . . I feel that I've got the same duty of respect to the people around me.

It's very hard for me to read this and not yell out 'racist'. Could you please tell me your reasoning behind treating a woman from a different culture poorly?

I definitely do not understand, but I would be happy to have you help me understand.

There also exists a realm of points able to be supported by evidence - outside of opinion - which you don't reallly enter into if you're sure you're right.

    Lex,
I watched the show one night. It is pretty good. We can learn something from it.

I liked the one about the young black man trying to saw the lock off a bicycle. When it was a young good looking blond doing the same thing (yes, Aceman I know you would hit it ) it was okay and even someone helped her steal it!
