Default What Type of Headphones Do You Use With Your mp3 Player?

Between the wife and I, we have three. All sound good, but I find I use the Bose the most, because they don't stick into my ear cavity. I never had a problem with that before this year....something must have changed with my ears.

By far the most comfortable, and they have the 2nd best sound. They only lose out by a nose because they lack a bit of bass unless you turn it up loud and they are not sound isolating.

Klipsch Image S4i. These sound the best, but they get uncomfortable after a while. They came with 4 different sizes of earbuds, and I have 5 more from my other set below that fit, but for some reason my ears don't like them for long periods. I HAD to have these in white to match my new white iPhone last year. Fantastic sound, I may just need to suck it up and get used to the feeling in my ear.

Klipsch Custom 2. This was the first set of high end earbuds that I bought when I got my iPhone. They are extremely comfortable (even though they stick into my ear...must be the angle of being upside down), have amazing sound reproduction and quality, but they really lack bass response. I don't like home boy thumping bass, but these are really weak in that dept. I have to change the eq settings on my iPhone to the 'deep" setting, and even then they just barely pass for bass. I understand the Custom 3 set has all the bass, but I'm not in a position to pay $200+ for headphones at this point, especially with the others I have. I think the Custom 3 would be my ideal set. One day. Check out how they fit...really unique.

    What do you guys use?

I use Koss PortaPro headphones. They don't cost a fortune and they sound pretty nice. I'm admittedly not a hi-fi junkie, but I do like how they sound. Very clear, especially considering the price range.

Boy, I'm surprised to see a good review of those bose phones.

My pair is a muddy, Ill-fitting, overbearingly bassy mess.

I use a pair of Shure SCL-3's for the gym. Good isolation, really clear sound, though lacking in "oomph" a bit in the low end.

    Rugged as **** too.
    Peace,
    Dan

I read a lot of bad things about the Bose headphones too before I bought them. The wife really wanted them because she can't stand to stick things in her ear at all. I bought them for her, but they are so good I usually take them over.

Wonder if you have an early pair and the newer ones have some revisions? I honestly don't know. Shure makes some great, great headphones.

I once bought an expensive set of Shure IEs because I told myself, well, they're on sale (talk about consumerism) and I listen to music almost 6-8 hours every day (which would be half the time I'm awake). Might as well buy some nice earphones.

Turns out out of the box one of the IEs was dead. Eff me. The guys at Shure were quick to respond and help, unfortunately the guys at the online store I bought it from weren't. So now I just use what I used to use...my iPod buds. When those die I might buy some low-end bigass Sennheisers. Those have always worked for me.

JVC Marshmallows! Best sound for $20 absolutely. I'd say they're as good as anything up to around 50 or 60 bucks

I had the Bose. Didn't like them at all! The sound quality was ok, not great, but ok. They kept flopping out of my ears, though, which annoyed the heck out of me.

I tried the Shure's next. Those were excellent. Great fit, great sound, and noise cancelling to boot. They died after a year's use, so I went with another brand...

Klipsch! I've been a huge Klipsch fan for years. Having owned several of their speaker systems, starting with the Heresy's in the early 80's, I pretty much assumed their ear buds were going to sound awesome. They do! Everything the Shure's were and more. Best buds I've ever owned.
I started out with nothing...and I still have most of it left.

I've used the Shure E2c's for years now. They've always broken while they were under warranty, sent the old ones in a got a new pair 3 times now. They sound good.

These my friend! They're in all walmarts and they're even cheaper online.
    I love em.

the buds have memory foam on em, and they form a realllllly good seal with your ear. You hear everything, and unless you've got the volume on BLAST, then no one else hears what you're listening to. Nothing spills out and very little spills in. Pretty comfortable for earbuds, too.

Sennheiser in ear ones which work as earplugs as well. You need that type to combat the noise on the London Undergroud.

I only use one pair for everything, and it's probably one of the best $100 I've spent. Sennheiser HD280 Pro's.

Altec Lansing Backbeat Pros. One of the silicone "plugs" is a dual flange like musician earplugs, so I can mow the lawan and stuff without blasting the volume.
    Oh no.....
