Default how aggressive is the Duncan Distortion neck?

Trying to find a decent pairing with an aggressive bridge bucker, and wondering if the DDN is a good choice, or if it's fairly smooth.

I'm assuming that given it's name it would be a good aggressive neck pickup choice, but wanted to get some comments from those with firsthand experience.

DDn is what I'd consider medium-hot. I had a guitar with one in the bridge before (the idiot that owned the guitar before me put the bridge pickup in the neck, and trimmed the leads to fit too) that sounded great. Plenty of aggression, if that's what you're looking for. I'd pair it with a Distortion or Alt-8.

(The bridge pickup in the neck position, now, that didn't sound all that great. )

I have one in the neck of a RG550...and I don't care for it at all. Its not what I'd call aggressive...

Put a Full Shred Bridge in the neck...now that's aggressive and cuts!! And yes...I have a double FS bridge ste-up in my Jackson...love it!

BTW...the SD Dn used to be sold as a bridge model...the Seymourizer.

I have a distortion set in a Ibanez rg550 currently.Well, the sh6n got output allright,I had to lower the pickup as low as pickguard level to match with the Sh6b,but also to make it sound a little brighter since the pickup transition sounded extremely different in terms of tonal change. Now is it aggreesive?
Hell yeah.Very thick sounding close to the strings, but i prefer it's sound when lowered closer to the body.Still aggressive and loud but more cutting.
NOTE:The sh6n is an amazing bridge pickup too. Those who haven't tried it you are missing. You will be VERY pleasantly surprised.

It's more on the heavy than aggressive side.

If you want to get a lot of screech and pinch out of the neck you use a 59 (probably bridge version) or a Demon, and a lot of gain.

I ended up trying one in the neck-- uOpt, you're assessment is an accurate one, IMO. More heavy than aggressive. The 59N that I have in the bridge position had no trouble keeping up with the DDN in the neck, oddly enough.

I think I'll be back to using the trusty FRED in the neck with the polepieces raised up a bit for a little mo' high end..
