    An old interview, and closeups of his guitar showed a row of empty black holes. He didn't do it on every guitar, and he sometimes used different pickups in the neck.

    Dig around on this forum several years back, it gets discussed heavily in a few threads.

    I'm certainly not advocating doing the same thing, strikes me as a dirty hack. If you want a humless lower output single coil there, just get a Classic Stack Plus.
