    Default Identifying Vintage Strat PUs

Is there any way to tell if the Strat PUs in these pics are vintage Fenders, and if so what era? They came with a Strat that was cobbled together with various original and repro parts, including a very rare 1961 slab maple neck. One of the PUs has a sticker labeled "S P 9".

I don't think they are vintage Fenders
the pictures are pretty dark to tell
but the wires are wrong vintage strat pickup had cloth covered wires
& in the pictures the wire looks pvc coated wire -that dont mean there not ,they could of been changed, but are the magnets staggered it is hard to see in the picture and looks like there's no stagger on the one pickup

If vintage means made by Fender in the 50's or 60's...or maybe 70's, then the answer is neither one is a vintage Fender pickup.....unless they've been severely modified. Wrong wire, wrong eyelets, etc.

Fender did switch back to black fiber flatwork in the early 1970's & the magnets were staggered untill early 1975 so the could be later

I'm aware that the pickups don't have the original cloth wires (nor the original pickguard, pots or switch). Two of the three have staggered poles (though the middle PU doesn't have the classic stagger of the 3rd & 4th poles), the other even poles, and all three are potted and have tape around the windings. The PU covers are off-white. Fender PUs after 1964 had grey bottoms, these are black. Just curious.
