Buy a CVC and swap necks. All the kids are doing it.

Squier Classic Vibe Custom. 3-color burst double-bound body, rosewood board. Great starting point for a DIY non-reliced Andy Summers Tele, or keep it as-is. They are gorgeous.

So... I checked out Warmoth, and they would build a double-bound Ash Tele (unfinished) for $275. I can apply clear top-coating for the Albert Collins vibe... neck humbucker... might be a nice project...

Probably end up running about $800 for the total project... Hmmmm...

    Here is another picture:

    These guitars are $4000.

Warmoth can also build the neck for $310 (finished with clear gloss). I could also look around for a MIM 21-fret neck...

Does anyone have experience spraying nitro over binding? Is there anything special you need to do?

Hmm.... the more I look into it I might have to go down the SQ CV route instead... doing the math I'm looking at $900 without a case... I can buy a USA Deluxe Tele for $1000 or so...

The first Fender I gassed after was a Closet Classic Daphne Blue Custom Tele. I still think it's the sex.

I just finished doing a non-reliced "Andy Summers" conversion on a Squier CV Tele. I gave it a six-saddle bridge, a Duncan STK-T3B Tele Stack at the bridge, and a Duncan SH-1N '59er with a nickel cover at the neck. Everything was bought used off of eBay, except for a new '59er, and the whole thing cost $475. The Duncans give it an awesome tone for the price of admission.

If you have an itch to do such a conversion on one of those guitars, all I can say is "scratch that itch". You'll be glad you did.
