Default A Strat Pickup to go with a Set of Tele Vintage Stacks...

    Hey guys,

I am installing a set of Vintage Stacks (STK-T3b/STK-T1) in my Telecaster. I need a stacked Strat pickup to go in the middle position. I was actually thinking about the STK-S7 Vintage Hot Stack Plus. My reasoning is that I like hotter Strat pickups in the middle position. They tend to be a tad fatter and louder so I can keep them lowered closer to the pickguard. I asked about the Vintage Hot Stack Plus awhile back and was directed to a thread started by Erik H. Frank Falbo answered him and it was a good read; however, I'm looking for guidance for my particular application.

I think I responded to your other thread about this, but staying with the stack theme you have in this guitar, I think you would love the stk-s7 in the middle. What you describe that you are looking for would nail this pickup.

(My only caveat to this is exactly how low you would lower the pickup. If you were going all the way down, I might even recommend the Custom Stack. The hotter Custom Wind would give you more push in a really low middle position.)

Thanks Joe, yeah, the more I think about it, the more I really like the idea of the Vintage Hot Stack Plus.

I have the Classsic, Custom and Vintage Hot Stack Plus (one of each). If you're interested in 'trying before you buy', drop me a note and I'll send them to you to try out in your guitar. You can swap them out and see what you do and don't like about them for the cost of return postage before you invest in a new one all your own.

Thanks for the offer Joe. I'll just go ahead with the Vintage Hot Stack Plus. I don't even have the Vintage Stacks for Tele. I'll just get them all at the same time.
