Default Higher output pickups for an SG Standard

I'm wondering about either Blackouts or a Dirty Fingers bridge. My other main guitar uses Dirty Fingers in the bridge and neck......so

anyone experience with a Blackout Set in an SG?

did Gibson make neck versions of the Dirty Fingers or can I take the neck pickup from my RD and stick it in the bridge of my SG? If so, anyone any experience with a DF in an SG?

    cheers!

+1 for the Iommi sig HB, especially for downtuning styles.

The original Gibson DF came in one strength only. The reissued version in your recent RD may be different. Use a meter to check the DC resistance values of both your DFs. If they are equal, the neck PU will behave much as you expect when used as a bridge/Treble pickup.

There is one other way to get SD Blackout levels of output from your stock Gibson 490R/490T HBs. The new Blackouts Module.

I've got a set of Blackouts still in the box that I'll trade for a nice set of passives.

Tell me more. Like, for instance, where are you located? What sort of passive pickups are you after? High output or vintage? Open bobbins or covered?

the blackout module isn't available yet? and anyway, i'm not sure i want to
    blackout" my 498t and 490r.......

i'm leaning towards the blackouts however. just unsure how they will sound in an sg and would rather hear firsthand experience rather than dismantle my SG only to find out they sound similar to the EMGs that I tried in my faded SG - disappointing...

Don't worry. SD Blackouts (and Live Wire Classic IIs, for that matter) do not sound like EMGs.

I'm in Utah. I don't think you want my wish list as it's pretty long. But, here are some of them:

    -Alnico II Pro Slash APH-2
    -Phat Cat™ SPH90-1 Set
    -Evenly Voiced Harmonics '78
    -EVH Frankestein
-CC wound by MJ w/no MiA backplate
    -SH-55 Seth Lover Set

There's more but these would be the most realistic. Thanks!

I'm sorry man. I didn't mean to highjack your thread.

    +1

EMG's sound empty and lifeless, like your playing from the bottom of a well. Blackouts have a soul.
