I have a DOS/Alureon.A virus. I ran all my anti virus programs to try and get rid of it, no dice. Any suggestions?

Recovery
To detect and remove this threat and other malicious software that may be installed in your computer, run a full-system scan with an up-to-date antivirus product.
Additional recovery instructions for Trojan: DOS/Alureon.A
This virus may cause damage to the Master Boot Record (MBR) and Boot Configuration Data (BCD). You will need to run the following commands using the "bootrec.exe" tool to ensure a complete repair of your computer:
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /rebuildbcd
For more details on these commands, please refer to Microsoft Security Article KB927392, with specific focus to the options "/fixmbr", "/fixboot" and "/rebuildbcd".

Try the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware software first, theres one or two others that are just as powerful and I'll try to look them up online for you.
Otherwise, the best option for virus removal is generally to backup your most important files (and make sure they aren't infected...) and reformat your hard-drive (reinstall windows). That cleans out even the nastiest software issues.

Malwarebytes is a good start, but for the really pesky bugs....just wipe and reinstall.
Hijack this is a logger, it is not going to remove anything.
This thread will help you out. You are going to need Combofix for this.

every time my work PC has gotten infected they basically need to nuke it and start over.
funny aside: recently I got done with a project working remotely at home on my work laptop PC (and luckily saved the file on my works' system), and started cruising the net (at sites I believe to be safe from that sorta stuff). but then I got the black screen of death! thought I got a virus but my motherboard was apparently fried. gotta back up everything, basically every day.

What is it about the holidays and 'puter viruses?
I had a trojan the other day. I think it was eliminated w/ MB and AVG.
