Default Do animals eat christmas lights?

I have a strand on some front bushes. Worked fine until yesterday. I inspected it and one bulb had a hole in it, and two were broken (chewed?) in half! They weren't like that before, and have only been on my bushes. I was able to replace 'em and have the strand work again, so that was nice.

I guess something has been eating the bulbs?! Maybe they froze/thawed and broke that way?! I swear this stuff only happens to me...

Certain animals are building nests or shelters from the cold this time of year, so they'll grab anything that they think might help.

Are these the big fat "Christmas Story" lights from years ago, or the little tiny ones smaller than your pinky nail?

Cats and dogs will eat ornaments and tinsel. I don't think they will eat lights?

    Chewed or pecked?

Never forget that humans are animals too. Perhaps, your kids bit the bulbs? Far more likely, IMO, is that one of your neighbours does not like seasonal decorations. Think - motive and opportunity.

birds, dogs, pigs, javalina, goats.... they all pretty much eat anything. Especially if it has your scent on it, a wild animal will get all up on its business....

I wouldn't discount squirrels or chipmunks...crazy little bastards
You can run over a Tele with a pickup truck, pick it up - and it'll still play out of tune

Probably crackheads. Those ****ers'll eat anything.
Every love that made me lose my reasoning. Every chord that made my conscience ache. Every day spent counting hours. Well, none of them comes close to singing back a song inside my head.

    I remember calloused hands and paint-stained jeans, and I remember safe-as-houses self-belief.

Yup, I saw the X-rays. We were at the vet last week, the have a board up with x-rays and you flip up the x-ray to read what the story is underneath it.

One of the stories was a dog that ate Christmas lights.

If you play guitar chest-high, you play from your heart.

If you play guitar waist-high, you play from your guts.

If you play guitar low, you play from your huevos.
