    Default UGD!!! Agile 3100 Silverburst, Pics

    Used Gear Day! I don't typically have NGDs, but UGDs o'plenty, I'm pretty cheap I found a used Agile 3100 Silverburst, not an easy task, I've been looking for awhile now, determined to buy a cheap guitar for much cheaper than it already is and I have succeeded! I'm thrilled about this guitar, happy to add it to the family!

    Both pickups have oxidation, previous owner plays with his fingers, I guess he sweats a lot or something. So far I like the neck pickup, it is pretty fat and smooth, perhaps a tad dull but nothing to be alarmed about yet. The bridge sounds pretty thin, almost like a single coil, I will definitely be replacing it...a subject soon to be appearing on the pickup thread.

    I always love the silverbursts. Congrats on the new score.
    Hard Rock - gain on 5 - singing about good times.

    Heavy Metal - gain on 10 - screaming about something.

    Did you get that off Craigslist? I just saw one last night as I was going to all the different Craigslists around the country, and I thought the silverburst 3100, which is rare, was in the Chicago area.

    Congratulations! What a beautiful guitar, man. Wow. I love silverbursts. I just got a spalted 3100 myself, and it is a fantastic guitar. The bridge pickup sounds pretty good so there might be a problem with yours; maybe wiring? Granted it doesn't sound DUNCAN good, but it sounds good.
    My songs....enjoy! (hopefully )

    Absolutely, Chicago craigslist. The neck pickup is much louder, I even adjusted the height, the bridge is still thin, although the tone sounds pretty good it is just completely lacking in bass. I might throw an A8 or UOA5 mag in there but I doubt that will help with the bass, just the mids. I'm probably better off just getting my ideal bridge pickup.

    SCORE!!! I check Ebay now and then for used Agiles. I'm especially looking for one of their old PRS body styles which are now discontinued.

    Ok, after playing for a while I realize I was being a bit harsh on the bridge pickup, my other bridge pickups are just so much thicker in comparison (Custom 8, Crunchlab) and those guitars are much thinner in size so I was just a bit surprised that a big beast like the agile 3100 could sound so thin. I think an A8 might do the trick after all.

    welcome to the 3100 club! Awesome.
    My neck pickup came tarnished too. something's up with those covers. Looks cool that way though.

    I put a PGb in mine and it seems pretty sweet. Can't wait for a PGn to go with it.

    I'm pretty well acquainted with "Saga". I've been stalking all agile 3100 info for months so if anyone has written or post pics about agile 3100 I've been all over it. I love that rootbeer! I've even thought about going pearly gates in the bridge too just to try something different but I'm high gain metal 90% of the time so that probably won't work for me.

    Nice. I'm leaning towards getting a Agile P90 Les paul if I can find one I like. I just sold my stupid stupid SG Classic, so now maybe I can get a real mans guitar!; I'd like to find one used though, casue I cant really Jibe with that stupid 1.58 nut width on these;

    Yeah, the Agile 3100 is much better and cheaper than a comparable Epiphone LP, but an Epiphone g-400 is still the best cheap SG you can get IMO. They are selling for almost nothing now: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/p...tar?sku=512455

    Check out the used silverburst for $279. That would give me a nice pair!

    Seriously considering Distortion. I didn't love it in my schecter, but this Agile needs some serious balls, I have other guitars if I want to go clean so perhaps the Agile can go into permanent scream mode. Works for Mastodon!
