    Default Bunkman Guitars

My great friend and incredible luthier Matt Lee Phillips, has launched his new website, Bunkman Guitars of Texas.
Matt like me is a huge fan of the 1993 Washburn Steve Stevens SS 80 and SS 100 models, which were only built for a few months of that year.
Also the Hamer SS-3, which was a bolt on necked Super Strat, only produced for Steve himself in very limited quantities.
Recently Matt built me an incredible tribute guitar to Steve's famous white/black SS-3, as featured in the Michael Jackson live video of Dirty Diana and several Atomic Playboys videos.
This guitar is incredible beyond words with an assymetrical EB MM EVH profile flamed fingerboard on the maple capped neck, with top mounted Floyd nut.
The original dimensions of the Hamer neck are kept, an Original Floyd Rose tremolo and locking tuners, ect.
Here is Matt's site, if you are looking for the ultimate in rare Washburn style guitars and many others, look no further.

Here are pics of the original guitar, by the way we were in contact with the present owner of the actual guitar and another SS-3 owner, so the guitar I have is the most accurate replica Hamer SS-3 in the world!

E-mail Matt with your dream guitar wishes and see them come true..

That neck on the Hamer is friggin' amazing!

I've never seen bird's eye POP like that on the back of the Stevens neck.

Divine!! thanks for sharing the info!
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

Some experimental shots in the dark as it were, my 1987 Chapparal Custom painted by Jim O'Connor and my 1993 NOS Washburn SS 80 quilt, built for SS, but never delivered and my 1993 Washburn SS 80 black ordered by me back then, with SS only features, from the earliest production, may have been one meant for him as well, plus the new star, the Hamer SS-3 replica, awesome beyond words..
