Hi guys,
a while back I completely replaced the electronics in my Rondo Douglas offsetV with an SHPR-2b in the bridge and a SHPR-1n in the neck, triple shots, dual push pulls and a switchcraft jack.
I made a pretty bad mess of that install with a 60w soldering iron so I have been thinking of rebuilding it. Plus the diagram is finally up for the 2 hum, 2 ts, 1 vol 1 tone phase a series/parallel setup (thanx SD folks)
Now on to my question;
Do any of you mighty sages of guitar electronics have a particularly stiff push/pull 500k pot to recommend. The generics I have are way too fast/loose for my liking, I'm a set and forget guy and like a solid feel from my pots. These keep prancing around when I tremolo pick (and I do a lot of it).
Also the 1st string decays too fast on this guitar, and has noticeably weaker volume. I cannot drop the P-rails further because the cavity is too shallow. Could it be the mags in the SHPR-2 being out of whack with the Floyd Rose bridge or the pickup being too close to the strings and causing a pull? Any news of the trembucker version of the hot p-rails?
Thank you in advance.
