    Default Triple shot type question

    Hello!
This is my first thread here, i have been reading for a time and found everything i wanted to know, but now i need your help.

Currently i play a epi dot with a triple shot/p-rails combo in the bridge, but want to swap them with a p-94/phat cat. The triple shot i used for the dot is the STS-2B.
My question is, if i can use the STS-2B on my soon to be bought blacktop jazzmaster or do i have to use the STS-1 Trembucker version??

Maybe someone knows. Thank you and congrats for this great forum.

    Regards,
    Ben

    welcome to the forum!

im not sure about the model numbers but if you have the tall triple shot then it will be too tall to use on the fender.

as far as trem spaced vs normal, that will depend on what pup you use

Thank you for your quick response!

What exactly do you mean with "the tall triple shot"? Right now i got this one on my dot: http://www.seymourduncan.com/product...e-shot_b.shtml
Would this fit the bt jazzmaster aswell?
And btw, is the pole piece spacing of the standard p-rails ok for a jazzmaster or do i need to go for a trembucker anyway?

    So many questions, i'm sorry.

    Regards,
    Ben

On gibsons the bridge sits quite high, as the neck is angle away from the plane of the body.....so the pickup surrounds are wedge shaped and almost 1cm thick at the bridge-end. The 'Gibson' model triple shots also have a specific model for neck and bridge, but the Flat triple shots are 2 or 3mm thick for both.

For a fender trem you could get away with a gibson spaced pickup. For a floyd-rose bridge it would be less ideal.
