Good point. Still, I think things were CLEARLY hinky on their end from the beginning

Also - UPS is NOT going to pass up a chance to bill more. Those guys can probably guess the weight +/- 2 pounds on their own. They will not go based on just the stamp on the box. GC may, however, have a deal where they post based on the average weight of a head. A lot easier than weighing ever individual head on the off chance that one is a little heavier - like the Mesa. figure that they probably move more Marshall MG heads than anything.

    By the way - since the issue has been raised, and is making it's way to other places. YOU are telling the truth, right 9finger? I mean I don't really know you either....just kidding ; }

Might want to send a PM to Evan as a social heads up in any event.

OP - are you willing to post the UPS tracking number? I think they weigh everything.

As for OP credibility - we should look at this issue as an allegation - that's it. Absent real evidence - that's all we have. Some folks here are being awfully generous with GC's money without seeing any real proof.

I don't have a useful strategy for you. The fact that these types of operations are supported by consumers is the real problem.

The way things are going here, I am amazed that we landed on the bloody moon.

Hold on a second fellas. I just woke up and I'll try and answer everything else straight away. I don't think posting the tracking number would cause any problems, it nothing else, it adds some validity to my statements. I have no idea what's up with all mumbo jumbo after the damage claim or where all that came from. Like I've said earlier, I haven't gotten any new information from UPS to see what that's all about.

    What's up with this line:

Muncie, IN, United States 03/17/2011 12:48 P.M. Damage inspection scheduled.
That was before it was delivered to you right? Seems like the delivery guys knew that something was up . . .

I would also post this on every music forum I could think of.
GC does their own weighing. How it normally works is, you call about a specific item, they go pull it from the shelves, give you a brief rundown of the item condition. Then they either take your shipping information and either put you on hold or call you back with the total cost after having it weighed.

I will get a definitive answer on this today.

This is a very good point. GC does not know me or if I'm running a scam. This is also the reason I've tried to keep my cool intact and be patient with these guys. They don't know me and screaming and yelling at someone over the phone that may or may not be the culprit isn't going to do anyone any good. It sure isn't going to make anyone want to speed the process up and have it be done and over with.

Ace, if I was trying to run a scam on GC, posting an open thread on a busy forum like this would have been the last thing I would do. I know that even having this thing still up opens me up to intense scrutiny, and that doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Lets really think about it though, even if I were trying to pull a not so fast one and I actually received the head, what exactly could I do with it now? I couldn't keep it. It would show up somewhere in a pic or something eventually, and at that point you guys, especially you Ace, would catch it and crucify me over it. I've been a member here 7 years. I've known a lot of the people here for a long time. I consider a lot of you really good friends even though I've never met you personally. I wouldn't be able to show my face back here. Not to mention all the possible other repercussions involved.

In most instances, a scam artist knows when they've been beaten and let well enough alone. I'm not scamming anyone, building even more evidence to prove it, and I'm just getting started in this battle.

I got the tracking number up now for people to see for themselves.

No sir. That is the day the claim with UPS was filed. The box was delivered on the 15th.

One more reason to support the local music store...Guitar Shop Of Wisconsin on Atwood, in my case.

I urge the rest of you to do the same.

However, you can't everything you need at a local guitar shop.

9fingers is right, IF he were trying to pull a scam why would he post the scam, where members of the board would call him on it if they knew anything.

My gut tells me that UPS is in the clear, and 9Finger is probably as well. Looks to me like someone at GC had sticky fingers.

I get you on the "average" weight of the amp head. It makes sense that they would generically use an average weight with UPS instead of weighing every single box.

Have you looked at local NJ Craiglist sales or Ebay auctions in NJ? If I had stolen this I'd be looking to dump it.

Because right now, I have nothing positive or constructive to add and I may end up saying things I'll regret later.

At this point its going to take at least the threat of legal action if not actual legal action to get people appropriately motivated. Its time to drop the hammer.

(finger (and guys) chill - just making light of it - I ABSOLUTELY believe (f had zip to do with this and is getting the shaft from GC.

The only way this works for you is if you had a buyer for said item, received it, and now are trying to get the 800 back. But: That does not fly based on the UPS records. You are in the clear bro! Just funnin'

I still say we launch a protest.... Let's discuss the possibility later though...let it play out a bit. I would like to call the COO and send her my card. Their customer complaint and shipping processes really need some looking into...
