Default Does rosewood have the sizzle?

I was recording some practice on different guitars today, mainly my Ibanez with maple neck and rosewood neck, and my strat with maple neck and the other with rosewood. It sounded like the rosewood necks have a little more sizzle which is a little confusing since I always thought that maple is brighter and snappier and rosewood is warmer. However on both of these guitars, the maple actually sounds warmer by a small measure.

People hear frequencies differently, generally speaking maple is considered bright and rosewood considered warm. However, you might be a little more receptive to certain tones more prevalent in rosewood than maple. Just a guess.

Or, imo more likely, it could be that with an electric instrument, there are a sht-ton of variables that have more impact than the fretboard (or neck) wood.

That, too. I was hoping for an "all things being equal" sort of scenario.

Yes, it does. And if you search the 'net for rosewood as a tonewood some authors describe it as having an audible 'sizzle'. So, you're not alone.
