Just installed a SH-11 in my LP. Now I'm getting an awful squeal instead of nice controllable feedback. What did I do wrong?

Amps: 66 Fender BF Pro Reverb Combo,1973 50 Watt Marshall Head,Marshall 4x12 A/V Cab,Vox ToneLab LE,Vox VTH Valvetronix 120 Head,Vox AD 2x12 Cab,Roland Cube 20X
Guitars: Several Stratocasters,2 Fender Telecasters,Gibson SG Standard,Tokai Love Rock Les Paul,Dean Acoustic.
Pickups: SD SSL2,SSL5,Twangbanger,Antiquity Surfers,59N,Seth Lover N/B,Dimarzio Fred,Dimarzio VPAF N,Fender Fat 50s,Fralin SP43 Bridge,Brobucker,Antiquity Texas Hot.
The height was a little more than 1/16" but I lowered it to even with the mount, and the pickup has the cover it came with. The solder joints may not be the best.
The squeal goes away when I lower the tone a little

If you tap on the pickup cover can you create the noise? Same thing with the pots for that pickup..Is the noise high pitched and just like a mic squeal?

It's similar to mic squeal. My amp is at my rehearsal space and I left for the night so I can't tap it. I'll try that tomorrow. If it squeals when I tap it, what is that a sign off.
Thanks
So I re-wired it nice and neat. Black to hot, green and bare to ground and red and white together. Then I plugged it in to my little Marshall mg10, turned up the gain and it still did it.
did you say it came with a cover?
have you manipulated the screws that come thru the cover?
1/16 of an inch is awful close
yea sounds like microphonics to me

covered burstbucker?
is the cover factory or aftermarket
is it metal?
it should have a solder joint on either side on the bottom to keep it from vibrating
and to provide a ground connection

Yes the BB was covered and the SH-11 has the factory nickel cover. I'll check the solder joints on it now.
hard for me to see
do you see any lines in the solder joints ? cracks?
can you tug out, not real hard but firmly, to see if the joints are solid?
if so touch em a bot with a iron to "reflow" the solder
