My first guitar teacher was a big Duncan guy and he had a Custom and JB in his custom made guitars. I bought a Custom for my first guitar (Westone, still have it!) and he installed it in there. It had some crappy plastic covered passives in it before this, and when I played it with the Custom I was like O M G! After that I was hooked. I put a Full Shred in the neck and away I went.

That's pretty much how I started. Over the years I've tried the following Duncan pups in various guitars.

    Custom
    Full shred
    Hot rails
    Cool rails
    Vintage rails
    Jb jr.
    Dimebucker
    59
    JB
    Distortion
    Custom Custom
    AII Pro
    Blackouts

    Non-Duncan
    Rio Grande Texas and BBQ

A Pearly Gates neck is waiting to be installed into my Hamer and I'm also going to convert my Custom that I currently have in the bridge to a C8. The journey continues!

I have a super boring story.

the other guitarist in my band uses a Full Shred. I was using my homebrew axe when I joined, loaded with a DiMarzio super distortion and PAF Pro.

When I was buying a new guitar, and considering replacement pickups, I just sorta picked Seymour on a whim, figured I'd try it out. Went for the C5/JazzN. Eventually, I changed the A5 mag to a ceramic.

    that's about it.

after 3 months of reading and thinking to no end. it all started with the Alt8.
i made some awesome clips..then i thought i need a better lead tone and will hope the sacrifice in rhythm tone is worth it so i got a JB. got a A8 magnet shortly after just to try it, that was the ultimate death metal pickup, SO strong but a little destructive to its own sound. then i bought the custom ceramic, immediately put the A8 magnet in there creating the C8 was set on that for sooo long, then i wanted to try to stock Custom Sh5 again with the ceramic magnet. now i cant convince myself to go back. it just sounds smooth and crunchy.
