On my HSS strat the bridge pickup is an sh-11. no matter what position i am in it continues to stay on. it wont shut off. what is the problem? i checked the wiring and its connected to the 5 way switch how it should be and is not touching the input lug of the pot at all in any way.

Have you soldered it to the common lug.....there's one lug which is typically connected to output, as it connects with the inner plate regardless of the switch location

    pic please

does the volume control bring it up or down?

if it does then you have a short between the outgoing to selector switch
leg and the hot in for the Bridge pickup

    it may be your wiring
it may be a wire stripped too high over the solder connection
    it may be misswired

i did not solder it to the common lug, i know what that is, volume pot raises volume as usual, and i have a switch to coil split and that works perfectly fine, ill go take a picture and get it up asap
