Could you just explain what the point is to use 500 with res instead of a regular 250 ?

for the phat cat. since its wired with just a master volume and tone, the phat cat sees the 500k pots resulting in a brighter tone, and the singles see 250k pots for a darker tone

I've been messing about with the iron today & i found a great combination of a Bill Lawrence L500XL(bridge) & Hotrails(neck) well suited in volume also found a great clean tone of the Hotrails combined with the L500XL split.
