    Default DIY Cable Snake

What is the best way to make a cable snake?

I run 4 cables from my pedalboard to my amp head and I want to wrap them together. What is the best DIY way to do this?

I think it would be a good idea to be able to wrap them together but still have the option of pulling them apart later if I needed to separate the 4 guitar cables (all 10ft). Any ideas?

If you're only going ten feet I'd say Velcro as well. But find a place that sells it in a big roll about a centimeter wide. That way you can cut the pieces to the exact length you need, plus it is a lot cheaper than what you'll find at a music store. That roll will last you a long time. I get mine at a small computer supply store.

that techflex stuff is neat. My friend uses 4 cables to his board and he has them all together with this stuff. very durable and better than velcro.

I'd say get a 1/4" patch snake cable. Probably can't get a 4-track snake though. Lowest they go I think is 8-track (8 color-coded 1/4" patch cables stuffed through a sleeve).

I use one to send all my rack preamps to my rackmounted mixer. Sure does beat having 8 different cables running everywhere, and all the same color.

Get four differently coloured cables and learn to braid. OMG, they'll look, like, sooo pretty!

This works pretty well. I use atwo of these that I bought at Radio shack. The one I have a little different They have a slit down the center, then you just force it open and run your cables inside of it. You may want to label all of the cables that plug into the head though.

This is what I use and it works great. It comes in several sizes (diameters) to fit as many cables as you need. It comes in 8' and 16' lengths, IIRC. You use the cables that you like, wrap them up, and they stay neat and protected and don't get tangled up. Cords can easily be changed if the need arises.

I did this. Cable from guitar to board was direct. The other 3 were different colors and braided together. Just a little bit of tape at both ends of the braid. I also put tape the same color of the cables to where they plug into on the board and amp. Very quick setup
