Sounds nice man! The thing that jumps out at me is the snare is too loud, it's distracting. A good way to check levels on your mix is turn your monitors way way down and listen carefully to what you can and can't hear.

Those are just stock Garageband loops, so I'm not exactly sure how I could lower the snare. Off to Google Like I said, this is my maiden voyage into recording anything than just a guitar track outside of a professional studio

It's a good tune, I like it! Just lower the whole loop then.

I'll have to post the rocked up version from band practice when I get a chance for comparison. I wish I had the funds to record drums because it really makes the whole song, especially the end.

I agree the drums are a little loud, but I liked the song a lot.

I'm impressed with those vocals. Too many amateur recordings are ruined by sloppy vocals, but not here.
