It's a 2005. The frets are pretty worn, and I'm toying with the idea of replacing the neck, maybe with a Blacktop series rosewood.

Coincidentally, my local music store has a matching Strat that's been on the wall for a while; Agave Blue w. a reoswood board.

Those 2 are an amazing pair...the Barden in the Esquire is on it's way out so I'm hoping the new pickup smokes but the guitar is magic!

It's just a lowly MIM 50's Esquire but it's light, rings like a bell abnd plays like a dream...the finish is really thin for a poly finish and it stays in tune no matter what!

Sweet. Thanks, man. The one I have my eye on is a 2004. I don't really have the money right now but if I can get it for a decent price it's gonna be really hard to say no.

Have the frets on yours worn out unusually fast or have you just played the snot out of it? Fretwear is always something I'm wary of when buying online.

And for what it's worth, rosewood would look really sharp on that...but nothing beats maple on a Tele in my opinion. Maybe with a black scratchplate...

Nice! All this tele tawk has got me wanting to get mine out of storage.. I got my tele to have that tonal option in the arsenal, but the more I play it, the more I seem to like it.. Ironically, I like clean tones with it.. Ive always been a high gain guy..
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

cleans..hmmm. I never got great cleans from a stock Tele. They beg for a Deluxe'ish amp on the edge of clean/breakup and beyond. Growl, grit and balls.
OTOH< if you put a nice Mini in the neck, or a custom neck pickup, yeah, theres some great in between cleans and some sweet ass neck cleans, but the stock tele neck? I really dont think so. The bridge?..no way.

Anyway, someone really should have posted this thread by now. 24 pages of delicious, sexy Telcaster goodness.

    Thank you sir!

Scott did a fine job on her and it was worth all the work that went into it.

I dunno if it's the finish oir the neck or what but that guitar is like a tuning fork...it just rings for days and days!

The neck is rather large and the finish is super thin, in fact I've already got several bare places in the neck and on the body but whatever it is this guitar has it!

well, mine has a firebird mini bucker in the neck and a Duncan Jerry Donahue in the bridge and a single coil in the middle. So it gives me nice warm and or spanky cleans and plus it sounds killer with gain too.

okay. I trust you really and not being sarcastic. Im bouncing Ideas off the forum walls. Do you really get some beuatiful cleans, aND do other artists too with the Tele bridge? To me, its so bright and peircing, it needs the edge of a blackfacish cleanish distortion to make it sound gorgeous, and lets make no mistake about it.. through a Blackface Deluxe with the cleans just pushed to a sublime breakup...gorgeous beyond all belief it is!
