I heard somewhere that headphones will never be as accurate in sound production (in a studio recording environment) as studio monitors. Any truth to this?

yup, monitors provide a sense of space and "airyness". I use headphones none the less..Originally Posted by Biu
I have a pair of Dynaudio BM-6 monitors in my studio. I also have 3 different sets of headphones that I check my mixes with regularly. Each headphone accentuates different frequencies and I know them all well. If i think the bass is too loud, I'll check on the h.p.'s that have a lot of bass, to make sure it's not overkill. If highs are too piercing, I'll check with another set.
Variety is king. Especially when mixing.
