    Default Wiring question: Quiet Pickups...?

    Afternoon all,

Recently purchased some STK J2 bass pickups for my passive Fender Jazz bass. I was hoping these would increase the output but when I wired them up the volume is pretty much the same. I'm guessing this might have something to do with the volume and pots, does anyone have suggestions...?

    Thanks in advance...

Hmm, here. It must be a pain to find out to be the only one with hum and noise problems. I hope Your problems will be solved in reasonable time.

    Welcome to the forum.

The stacked coil replacement pickups are supposed to give approximately the same output as vintage style single coils - just minus the 50/60Hz mains hum interference.

The published DC resistance figures are no help. The way that the coils are connected means that only the upper coil is contributing to the sound. The lower coil is only really there to cancel the noise.
