this a new strap that was hand made for me by the singer in the band i am in. his name is stoney paul..he also makes custom motorcycle seats.yes he is on face book. he includes strap locks if ya want them. this one looks great on the ec1000,and is very soft, padded and comfortable. i play very low with my guitar around my waist, and since im so tall,i need a long strap. it is standard deer skin leather but has these black stingray skin inserts or layers under the hand tooled purple leather...very well made custom strap..i would have never bought a strap this nice so thank you stoney...so lets see your straps...got to be some cool ones here to hold up all these killer guitars you guys play.

    That's effing sweet, man!

My pink monstrosity (strap, pervs) and other straps aren't anywhere near that.

I've always liked this strap by Levy. Can't find it on the site though. Always thought it looked classy yet didn't scream 'look at me'.

Awesome looking strap in the OP!

I have the one on the far right! I bought it from their booth at Northwest Folklife in Seattle. It's an awesome strap.

I also have this one from Couch. It's made from deadstock Mercedes vinyl.

Couch is an awesome company. Not only do they make excellent straps, they also have great customer service. One of the rivets popped out of mine. They fixed it free of charge and gave me a discount on my next order!

Speaking of, I think my next one will be their Mustang trunk liner strap.

I dare say I may be becoming a collector of nice guitar straps!

Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

These are my favorite two that I have. The first is a Levi's that I got form GC for $20 bucks because someone had put it on a guitar and flared out one of the holes, so they sold it as used. Only bad thing about this strap is if you're not careful with it, it will beat a guitar finish all to pieces. Amber has little dings all over the top from the metal rings hitting it coming in and out of the case.

The second is a reagular leather strap that I sewed a big canebrake rattlesnake skin to that I killed a few years ago.

I have a few but the one I like the best is a leather Schecter-branded one.

I am too lazy to take a photo right now but it's this one:

    Question?

how much of a comfort increase is it to jump from Dimarzio clip locks to a leather one?

I never had a leather one.

Leather feels much nicer than nylon. Almost anything is nicer than nylon IMO.

Don't underestimate the awesomeness of a good vinyl strap either (see Couch), or a good seatbelt strap for that matter (Couch or Souldier).

A nice guitar deserves a nice strap. And at the risk of sounding like a weenus, a nice-looking, comfortable strap really does help you bond with your instrument.

Are you related to the owner of Couch?

I like plain, boring nylon straps, mostly in black. The Levy's versions are pretty nice, especially the fatter ones.

anything you can't do on a Les Paul is because you haven't practiced enough or you don't rock hard enough.
