    Default Brighton Rock - uh oh

    Gotta learn this on guitar (thanks to my own suggestion to cover it...d'oh). I am sweating bricks, because I am not that kind of player at all...but I have always thought this is one of Queen's top songs, and I have always wanted to cover it. Never thought I would be the one on guitar, though.

    It sounds hard as hell, but once I started initially playing along with it, I realized it is within my technical ability. It is really only figuring out the part properly, the structure, and the timing that are tricky.

    Wish me luck...and give me some help if you can!

    P.S. I am going to try to arrange the delay section with me and the other guitarist playing in a round, instead of having to screw around with pedals.

    Great song. Sounds complex because of the plethora of guitar parts weaving in and out of one another. I love the part at 1:45, where you can hear him whack up the volume control on the guitar; and those licks at 1:55, 2:00. A lot of people have thought he uses the neck pickup for these licks but it's more likely to be bridge+middle out of phase, quite thick sounding still.

    Doing the delay parts with two guitarists should be interesting, as two people have to play in time, not merely one if you've got a pedal!
    For him who struck thy foreign string,
    I ween this heart hath ceased to care;
    Then why dost thou such feelings bring
    To my sad spirit - old Guitar?

    Even so, Guitar, thy magic tone
    Hath moved the tear and waked the sigh;
    Hath bid the ancient torrent moan
    Although its very source is dry.

    Fabulous tune...I love Queen and each time I listen to their stuff it just increases my GAS for a Brian May Sig guitar...

    Well, pretty much got it. Gotta clean it up on those quick riffs down on the low frets, but I figured out all the parts except the harmonized counterpoint parts in the last verse. Haven't tackled those yet. The problem is that I need a vibrato much better than the ones on my Strats. Considering a Bladerunner by Super-Vee and a set of Sperzels for my Mexican Strat.
