    Thumbs up Zhangbucker review

I bought a Pure Handwound set from David. Yes, you have to wait a couple of months (it IS a one man operation). After several emails back and forth, I settled on (he talked me into?...insisted on?) getting a Duane Plus (b) and a Brownbucker (n), both coverless in black.

They were installed in my Ibanez semi-hollow body axe (this pic is with the Crazy 8 and Phat Cat).

    This guitar SINGS!

The highs chime without biting, the lows growl with CLARITY, and every note rings through with full chords. Frankly, these are the best pickups I've ever heard. I might have to see if he can make sets that will fit in my Parkers.

I wish I could write a review like rd or Adam. I cannot describe these in a way that explains what I'm hearing. The bottom line is this guitar that I've always liked is now AWESOME.

    Thanks David.

I HIGHLY recommend his work. Check him out.

Alnico 2 or 4? I've always wanted to hear about an A4 Duanebucker (plus or not) bridge.

I don't really know. We went back and forth over what I was seeking, and David ran with it.

Have you gotten used to changing pickups in a semi hollow? Any tips you can pass along that help make it easier?
If you play guitar chest-high, you play from your heart.

If you play guitar waist-high, you play from your guts.

If you play guitar low, you play from your huevos.

Man, you've got me really keen to get mine into my guitar now - I'm waiting with baited breath for my Zhangbuckers too.

I've gone for a vintage output humbucker pair, handwound and with the bridge being a 'widebucker'. The Les Paul studio they're going in already rings out beautifully, so given your review I guess it will be amazing when those are in.

Is it a newer chambered studio? If so i can vouch for the tone. I put seth lovers in one recently, and it instantly became my favorite guitar for vintage tones.

A2. I'm sick of trying to work with my 355 so I'm going to put a control cavity cover on it.
In 1861 as Confederate forces were about to fire on Fort Sumter, the Blue and Gray had far more in common than the blue and red today. What fellowship can "the truth shall set you free" ever have with "what is truth"? I've never looked that closely at a Parker. What's different about the mount?

Size (feet?) on the Mojo, which currently is a JB/Jazz set. The Deluxe has different bobbins; the originals were Dimarzio. Mine were rewound by MJ.

David, the Ibie now is what I KNEW it could be. I played it at band practice tonight, and I plan to take it to prison this weekend (leading worship ).

The descriptions I've seen about how each string in a chord rings through is accurate, but I didn't fully comprehend it until I heard for myself. It works equally well with the Celtic Franklin AND the POD X3L.

    Thanks again for stellar work!

Don't mean to go off topic and talk about pickups...

But I have one of Zhangs in my Gibbo ATM. Never had such lovely chime from a neck humbucker. Really has a single coily air about it. 7.9k A3. Going to actually swap back to an A2 cause the guitar is quite bright and I'd like it to mush out just a liiiitle bit more.

    That should do it.
