    Default change to blackouts

hi everyone, i am going to change or should i say, im thinking of changing the pickups on an ibanez EGEN8. this is basically a n ibanez S570 body, with HSH config. as the blackouts are active, this will mean that after changing the neck and bridge pups, i will be left with the single coil passive pup in the centre position.

as SD advise not to run active with passive, can anyone suggest a active single coil to complement the blackouts .

If you're going to change to the standard blackouts there are single coil versions that you can wire in the middle. Afaik the single coil doesn't come in any of the metal covers to make sure to order all matching plastic covers

Other things to check are that you have a stereo jack as you'll need to attach one side of the battery to the unused lug. You also need to change the pots over to 25K as the standard volume and tone wont work with actives.

Does the Egen8 have the herman Li wiring with the pullout? If so you won't be able to replicate this with blackouts as you cant split them, so will need to rewire the switch.
