    Default 498T in a Pacifica

I have a chance to buy a Yamaha Pacifica really cheap. I know the pups aren't up to much but I have a 498T doing nothing. Anyone tried one in a Strat type guitar ?

Pretty much any American pickup is sure to be an improvement on the stock units. The other considerations are the pot values and the cruddy selector switch.

One of the most recent Pacifica models comes with a P-Rails pickup in the bridge/treble position. Now, there's an idea!

What's the problem with the pots and the selector switch ?

Should be okay. If it's too bright, try an A8 in it. It takes that mag very well, like a C8.
