Raise Your Weapon is a good song - no matter what genre it is.

I like dubstep with the same part of my brain that I like metal with. It's about "brutality," breakdowns, being heavy, etc. They are clearly congruent in my mind.

Here is a little primer on what dubstep is - not only is it informative, but it makes me laugh my ass off

Do this little exercise in your mind: imagine the wub-wub-wubs are high gain guitar --- would make a pretty badass metal song, amirite?

    TL;DR: Dubstep is metal

Better watch out yo, Deadmau5 hates being compared to dubstep. Love me some Deadmau5...his live shows are unreal.

Now that I know it has a name I dislike it even more. I had just been calling it Eurofagdisco.

Dubstep just sounds like a transformer constantly transforming...

I like electronic music, but I don't think there is enough coke in the world to make a person enjoy dubstep to it's full potential.

The problem with dubstep for me is it all sounds the same. Kind of like vocal trance.

Hell yeah man, I watched this video end to end - I fell in love with the cube and the LED helmet - so cool.

Right here, he has the crowd in the palm of his hand - I love, love, love feeling that.

I'm excited, I know, but watch the fawking helmet and cube right after this drop, and tell me it's not one of the coolest things you've ever seen in a live show.

The cube and helmet make it for me.

How much acid or ecstasy do you have to take to enjoy a dubstep show?

    I know bro, I know.

There's a pretty nasty guitar solo on one of their songs, "Mothersound"

    Awesome.

But man... You can literally hear the groans from all the... Older folks on here when you open this link. Like some kind of localized closed-minded haunting.

I'm gonna pass on this one, not because I hate it, not because I'm an... Older Folk, but because I can compare it to things I've heard before.

    Dubstep =

    80's hiccup sampling + 80's hyperspeed house music + 90's scooped-mid guitar chug + 90's edgy distorted synth tones + 00's mega-heavy processed vocal.

There's nothing new under the sun. It's like Marilyn Manson had a baby with T-Pain.

How will you grow as a musician if you put a wall up on the new stuff?

I am not a big dubstep fan, but I have listened to some of it objectively, and have extracted some value from doing so.

I am not planning to make any music in the vein of dubstep, but it is music, and there are things to be learned from "cross training."
