Unhappy R.I.P. Pete Stevens (Wal Basses cofounder)

I just happened to notice this sad news on the Wal Bass website. Not that I've ever played one of their basses, but always thought they were beautiful instruments.
It is with deepest sadness that we must pass on the news that Pete "The Fish" Stevens, co-founder of Wal Bass Guitars, passed away in the early hours of Wednesday 28th December. He had recently celebrated his 65th birthday.
As many in the Wal family will know, Pete had suffered from chronic respiratory problems for many years. The world of music has lost a great innovator and a true craftsman, and we have lost a dear friend.
Pete's funeral will take place at Amersham Crematorium on Tuesday 10th January 2012 at 12:15pm.
Rather than send flowers, Pete's family has requested that friends make a donation to their favourite charity in his memory.

Wal's were some of the most amazing sounding basses, ESPECIALLY the fretless ones!
