Default Someone has to try this

I have been using a Custom 5 bridge with a UOA5 magnet as a neck pickup. I think I stumbled upon a really awesome neck pickup. Someone else has to try this so you can vouch for my discovery. Seymour Duncan needs to make this a regular part of their line and call it the "Uber Custom."

You may have a fight on your hands with blueman if you try and call it the "uber custom," I would still love to try the UOA5 at some point

I liked it a lot more in the neck than the bridge thats for sure!
I hated it in the bridge spot

It's already established here as 'the Blueman Signature UO C5.' I have a pack of lawyers ready to pounce on anyone foolish enough to try to muscle in on my patents. You've been warned.

I tried and thought it was still too bassy. Are you running it parallel?

I did like a Custom/490R UOA5 hybrid as a neck pickup, pretty cool for the sludgies.

Is this in a 22 or 24 fret guitar?

I will bet 24 fret would sound the best for this in the neck. I tried it in a 22 and it was good.

You guys must be doing primo legato up high on the neck only or something. I tried it with a 24 fret neck, it's 24.75 scale though.

I think they should load Invaders with Alnico II's and call em grumptrucks.

Not at all. The UOA5 reduced the bass significantly. Compared to my Pearly Gates neck, it's less bassy. It has a similar balance to my Jazz neck. I'm using 250k pots so I don't know if that takes away anything from the low end.

That's weird, it was way bassy for me even with an A4, 500K pots. I dunno, maybe because it's an LP-ish guitar with heavy strings tuned to C#.
