It will dominate. The lead tone is a little thin and shiny so i lower the lead side (unwound) from the strings to get a more JB sweetness & thickness, but on the chords its thick and warm and growlin-tight and ultramean- on my epi sg. The leads are still usable, like Randy Rhoads. The 59 mite be boomy,so keep the pearly gates-n in mind. Yknow, i dont know if i have250, 300, or 500 for vol pot: u may wanna research that, for optimum performance. But if its your first DD, it should unleash something in you, like a werewolf, or a supersoldier on Jacobs Ladder LSD, or a hungry leather alley punk w a switchblade.
I have a Dmz 36th-b in my neck which i love- it really is clean picked litely, dirty picked harder-dynamic, articulate, screamin' even-not boomy nor jazzy. Not 3D, character wise, but has an almost singlecoil bite for leads yet zztopish crunch thickness in the lows- it really makes me want to play. And cost $65.

Thanks dude! Not my first sd Dist., had a set in a lp classic.
Gonna drop these in an Explorer, wanted a little versatility with
the 59 in the neck. Owned both pups before just never in the same
axe. We'll see what happens, gotta buttload of extra electronics if I
need to swap something out. Thanks.

I see so you wanna know how they blend/match... Im at a loss there

I got that same setup on my Gibson explorer and it kills gor all things overdriven and distorted

I've got a DD in my Explorer....with a stock Gibson neck pickup, whatever that is......That guitar kills!
