All this time I thought George Lynch used a Duncan Distortion in his
Tiger during the early days with Dokken.
This one proved me wrong

too bad his lead is buried in the mix![]()

how about a BARTOLINI? Criss from savatage used these and the are great metal pu's

I'm also thinking an x2n. the blades look too wide to be a BL.
Wayyyyy too wide to be a BL. Heck, it might even be a Mighty Mite from back then but I don't know if they made blade pickups then or not. It was before I started playing guitar and by the time I had heard of Dokken, he was using Distortions.
Nostalgia.

I forgot all about Juan Croucier playing bass for them.
rails are not wide enough to be X2N either
but ... given the year this video was shot and where it was
shot makes alot of sense. Dokken was in Germany to record their
debut. this would be the around the same time Bill Lawrence went
back to Germany for family causes.
It's a Lawrence L90 with raised arched rails. They look bigger because the angle & the lights are casting shadows. Below is a pair on eBay just like George's.

You guys still don't think it's a Bill Lawrence?![]()
I think it's whatever someone gave him for free.
Rails are too wide for a lawrence, My guess: it is a schaller hot stuff double rail pickup. Same as Mathias Jabs used in his strats in the very early 80s. They were quite common at the time.
I'm an internet person. All we do is waste time evaluating things that have next-to-zero real world significance.
Remember, it's just a plank of wood. YOU have to find the music in it - The Telecaster Handbook

He replaced this with what? A Duncan Distortion?
I was more concerned with Wild Mick Brown.
Did anyone notice him switching from jazz grip to standard and going back and forth?
That was back when Don was running ****... did you guys notice the band taking their volume down during the verses so Don's weak vocals could punch through the mix better? Lolz.

Yeah,Mick's a badass!
