Hi guys! This is my first post, and my first time on this forum hopeing to find the problem of my new sd upgrade.

I've bought two of these Seymour Duncan triple shot rings today so I can split some coils without using coil taps because its a semi hollow and coil taps dont fit through the f-hole.
All I did was solder the colour coded wires to the board and solder the other end as if its a simple 2 conductor humbucker.

The problem is I simply hear no difference at all when the switches are at different positions.
The pickups are SD alnico II pro neck and a SH-6 distortion bridge
I've tried splitting them in all sorts of combinations but other then the volume gets louder when having both coils in series. There are absolutely no difference with other splits. Is that my ear problem? Or is my pickups not suited for coil split?

I'm alittle upset and disappointed because my friend had the same pickups in his blacktop strat and when he goes on the neck split + bridge setting on the 5-way switch it sounds heaven.

Thanks guys
