Let's try this again so people dont get butthurt.

Also specify different magnets and wiring mods if you have any.

Right now im enjoying a slash A2 pro bridge and an A2 swapped 59 neck.

I havent tried all of those, but then I dont really go for vintagey tones too often. I love the Alnico II Pro for the bridge and the 59 for the neck.

LOL.....I've got all of those pickups except for the Slash Alnico II Pro and the Pearly Gates Plus. Otherwise, I have every one of those loaded in a guitar at the moment except for my 10k Antiquity.

That's probably because most people don't own any. That would be my guess anyways.

i havent owned any, but i put a pair of seths in a chambered studio les paul... to this day, that is the best sounding guitar i have ever played. i will probably get one and set it up identically to that one.

this was through an AC30 modeler

my playing has gotten a lot more refined since then, but it sounds great.

I like any high quality PAF (and have everything on the list except screamin demon, which I still don't think belongs in this poll, nor does the CC), but Seth's are my favorite. I suspect that most guys who voted for others (including PG's) have never owned a Seth set. That's not to say the others aren't great PU's, but Seth's stand out.

the demon is a little hotter, but it still acts like a PAF IMO.

I recently setup my schecter with a demon bridge and PGn. They pair up great but the demon is not PAFfy. I'd DQ it on the 43awg alone

And I am one of the PG voters who has never played Seth's so * my vote

Good points. Demon and CC aren't viable PAF candidates; good PU's but this is not the poll for them. Really should be limited to Duncan's 1950's/60's style HB's. That's vintage. But I digress...

If you've only tried one or two PAF models, and voted for them, you owe it to yourself to try more. There's more pleasant surprises waiting for you.

i changed the poll to include more than just PAF pickups though, since the term has become too broad in most people's eyes.

i can get good classic rock tones from the CC although it doesnt really sound like a PAF.

I've tried all of the Customs except the 8's, A2P, 59, C/59 and Jazz. None of them stir me like the PG

Which may be true, as manufacturers toss around the term 'PAF' with PU's that have nothing to do with PAF's. But why perpetuate it? DMz calls some HB's as sounding like P-90's; yet in a favorite P-90 poll, I would hope I wouldn't see any HB's listed. Marketing campaigns do not change the definition of what a PAF/vintage PU is.
