Phat Cat Bridge with Iommi Bridge

I have an SG with an Iommi in the bridge. I love it because it's big and really warm.

Right now in the neck I have a modded 490 with an A5 magnet. It's good by itself but really lacks some thing compared to the Iommi. Has anyone paired a Phat Cat with the Iommi or used other pups?

My other idea is to pop a BB with either an A8 in the neck to check it out. It would certainly be bigger sounding.

You'll probably need to do a mag swap in the Phat Cat, as it has next to no treble, unless that's what you're going for. Twin A5's or an A5/A4 will give you great tones.

A8 in the neck = dark and muffled, and overpowering. There's a reason why this isn't done.

We've got treble-loving forum members still excited about the recent 250K/500K debate, and you're wanting your guitar to sound like it's in a closet with a blanket over it.

But, if you want an extreme kind of sound, go for it.

I figured the Phat Cats will need a little something. These have already been modded by another forum member so I'll try them out as they are since I'm pretty sure he listened to your trusted advice. If not, I do have spare mags and will do the A4/A5 setup.

A Tony Iommi and an A5/A4 Phat CatN should sound pretty good together.

I've paired a CC and an UOA5 490T with neck Phat Cats. Works very well.
