I had a similar bonding experience with an SG in 1978. I hesitated, the guitar got sold to someone else, and I pine for that axe to this day.
Don't think about it; just take it home.

here's a fairly similar example of the one I'm debating over - went for over $400 (incl. shipping).

emailed the dude since he apparently has sold a TON of these types of guitars. he indicated they typically go for $300-400 if nicely set up/not too damaged. of course there's going to be the CL & estate sale type exceptions.
will be interesting to see where this one ends up:

I have only had that magic moment with 1 guitar ever... it is my Strat... I bonded with it, had the same kind of experience, I will never sell her, never stop playing her, she is my number 1 guitar... If you had that happen, jump bro...

I think my buddy has one of those in his basement. I cant remember if it has THAT finish on it, or a tabacco-kind of burst, but he definitely has a harmony like that one. It actually is a pretty cool guitar. I think he might be using it to level out his table saw though. He's not very smart.

Bro - 300, or 3000; It doesn't matter.
This is one of those situations that was MADE for the Boobie test. Look it up. Answer Jeff_H's ultimate question. You'll know what to do.
I did. and even though it was nearly 3000, not a single effing regret ever. Because the Boobie test is THAT powerful.
