Default NGD - Hamer and Strat

A few weeks ago I bid on three guitars at the same time. Bad move! I won all three!!! I've received two so far...

This is a Hamer Duotone with Duncan pups and a piezo pickup system. The guitar was made in Korea. This thing is AWESOME!!! The pups sound great, as does the piezo, and it plays like a dream. The only downside is that it is a "2nd" (which was not fully disclosed by the seller). She seems like a keeper to me...

The second guitar is a Fender "Straight Six" FSR. I'm not sure why I bid on it. The guitar itself is MINT and plays nicely. It is like factory fresh! I am likely going to sell it since I like the cool factor and versatility of the Hamer.

Beautiful Hamer, but I hate the bridge. It's rather big and hideous.

It gives it an acoustic vibe. My concern is that it is non-adjustable, but the action is great so maybe a non-issue.

    Fixed.

Dump the pearloid and put a funky solid color guard on there. Maybe a lime green or purple.

I would make it either a HSH or HH, it looks kinda bare with only one pickup.

Flat black pickguard for it too!

Hang on that reminds me! You had an awesome Dave Murray of your own construction, why did you need a single hum strat?

Well, I was able to sell off the Fender Strat... the third guitar I had bought was a Washburn Wi66 and the seller hasn't sent it to me yet (three weeks) so I've requested a refund via ebay. If I can get out of that guitar then I'll keep the Hamer... it sounds awesome and I love that I can get acoustic sounds out of it.

Have you figured out why the Hamer was a 2nd yet?

Aren't you selling that in the Trading Post?

I have a MIK Hamer, same bodystyle (Sunburst) but in black, solidbody and yeah, they're great guitars!

I have not fiured out why it is a second.

    Yes, it is MIK.

I bought three guitars "by mistake" and I am buying a USA Hamer so I have to sell one or two of these. I was able to sell the Strat and I still haven't received the third one. I have this out for sale as a feeler... if I get a bite fine, if not, fine.

    Hold the phone.

What's the guitar in the background and what is that pattern on the body? It almost looks like brushed aluminum in that blurry pic.

That is the GOLFBALL strat my dad made. The pickguard is a see-through acrylic guard with smoked tint.

You are right, I did. It was a great guitar and for some reason (ok, a Les Paul) I sold it. I wish I still had it... bah!

I understand. I made one before you, started with an Affinity body and upgraded it to a full size body but...I still liked Les Pauls better so I sold mine too.

What happened to your Gilmour? I made one of those too, although not with the proper switching and stuff like you did. Sold that as well, SSS guitars aint for me!

Sold it! I had two SSS guitars... the Gilmour and my cream standard. The standard is upgraded with locking tuners and Callaham bridge (plus 69 pups) so I went with that one and sold the Gilmour. I liked it - played great (had a Warmoth neck to die for).
