Re-attach cloth tape after mag swap?
After I peel back the cloth tape on a humbucker to slide a magnet out & another back in, what do I have to do to re-attach the cloth tape around the coil? I know I'm not removing it, just kind of pushing the tape back a bit. Do I need some kind of adhesive to re-attach it?

A hearty second for spray adhesive. You don't need to do a lot of the ribbon just one end to close the wrap.

*shrug* I never needed to add any extra adhesive. I just peel it back slowly/carefully so it doesn't rip off all the stickiness from the tape itself.

+1. There's always been enough stickiness left on the tape, however, almost all my PU's have covers, so there's no way for the tape to come off once the cover is on.

Yeah, if it don't stick anymore I don't use it, coils are already taped themselves, the extra tape is mainly for looks. Stew Mac sells rolls of it if you gotta have it.
I always tape down the wiring side, old school Duncan style, no matter what, I just use electrical tape.

on mine, I just pushed it to one side
then used a very small screwdriver to flick it back in place

I just put it back on. There is usually plenty of stick left on for the tape to stay in place.

"Normally" I don't use glue,but the one or two times that I did,was because the tape just didn't want to cooperate! Melted wax works also.

Wax is usually why tape won't stick, so melting it is a good way to keep the tape back on.

taking a clue from what some have said about a hair dryer or heat gun, I warm up the tape a bit with a hair dryer so that the adhesive is a bit easier to release. and since some suggest to use some heat to warm up the wax a bit when done, I take the opportunity to warm up the tape again to work it back as close to original as possible. not saying it's perfect, but it's something that works a little better for me.
