I just got back from a business trip and heard the news. Plugged my LP into my Marshall and for one brief moment, cranked it to 11 and let loose. My wife and kids came running -they thought I had lost my mind. I assured them that I still had my mind, but I had just lost one of the closest friends I had never met.

God bless you, Guv'nor, and many, many thanks from all of us.

I'm late in to this thread as I've been offline for a week.

I heard of Jim's death on the BBC TV news on Thursday evening. Whilst I am saddened to hear the news I thought it was fitting that Jim's passing made the major TV news bulletin here in the UK. Marshall is an iconic and world-renowned brand we Brits can and should be proud of.

I've used Marshall amps since I could first afford one. Tried a few other brands along the way, but I always come back to Marshalls. I currently own three and they all get regular gigging use. I love 'em.

    R.I.P. Jim and thank you.
I'll wet my socks, pretend we just got caught in the rain.
