    Talking new favorite magnet.

    Large Ceramic DUDE.

I love this thing. Both of my guitars are sporting one now.

Everything I like about the small ceramic, without the thin, brittle setbacks. It's great. So glad I tried them.

Totally dig the large ceramic Custom over the C8.

I bet even a 59' with a large ceramic would sound great. Great midrange.

they can certainly sound powerful, but I like the combination of balls, power and organic soul that the A8 has.

in my jolly roger, the oversized ceramic Custom (Custom+ ?) sounded way too shrill/thin. C8 sounds perfect.

I told you so. Big ceramic in the Brobucker is pretty epic too.

CTN, I wonder if something was weird with your mag, the big ceramic custom is anything but thin/shrill, I think it kills the C8.

I know the 8 has its applications as well. I've used it plenty in the past. Right NOW, I'm high on a Lg. Ceramic.

Flavor of the month? Only time shall tell. My ears and fingers are drooling for it right now.

Maybe all my guitars are dull, I don't know.

Big ceramics are warmer and a ton thicker than little ones, kinda like a brighter A8 without the big midrange push... and louder.

They are stiffer sounding than A8 for sure, but for metal they're full of win, in most winds.

I must admit that while I normally dislike ceramics, I was diggin' the stock 500T for what it did well. It had a honky roar. (I guess that is the modern guitar equivalent of the rebel yell, right? ) Nothing but fat and aggressive midrange on that pickup. It was just not versatile/warm/trebly enough for my liking, so I went to an A3, and inadvertently ended up with a half airbucker in the process. As soon as I can track down a keep bar, I'll change that. May go to A4 instead, and put the A3 into the neck 496.

The triple mag setups in 500T/DF/Invaders are a different story. Even stiffer than the big mag alone and they have a sharp attack, not as warm either. I put the 500T mag setup in a Custom and didn't like it very much, but I can see it being killer for the djent fools, spec pretty close to the BK Aftermath. I put those same mags in the 490T/498T hybrid that Metal Machine has, I don't think he's tried it yet, but that thing is a screamer.
