Default Can I convert the Acoustic Tube pickup to an end pin jack?

Pretty much what the title says. My g/f got me an Acoustic Tube for Christmas and while it sounds wonderful 99% of the time, I occasionally get some crackle when the female output plug gets jostled. It's VERY loud and VERY annoying. I've come up with some possible solutions, but my preference would be to just turn it into an end pin jack, if that is possible.

Has anyone tried this? From looking at the jack, it seems like it should be possible to unscrew the end piece, but I'd have to take the plastic covering off of the jack and I don't want to do that and have it not end up working.

As a final note, I am aware that making it an end pin would make it a permanent mount in my guitar, and I'm fine with that.

I don't see why not. The output connector is just two wires in a co-axial configuration. If you can solder, just cut the end off, (or unsolder it), and solder to the end pin jack.

I'm not equipped to solder, nor do I have the knowledge (I should learn sometime). I'm sure one of my friends does, or at least one of the local guitar shops should be able to.
