Eeesh! Against my better judgement I've posted demos on youtube. And if you hafta step into a waterdunk tank, might as well get dunked by Clemens or Pedro Martinez. So i'm shamefully selfpromoting these to get thy comments & critcisms from ye, forumites, the Yodas of Tone.
1. How to: KILLER METAL TONE (cheap!) part 1: power tubes
This is my Manifesto for the Cult of Pickups&Tubes. With Quality Pickups & Overdriven tubes, you can conquer the world, sez me. This is for little 14 year old Jimi Van Rhoads-to-be in Oshkosh, Argentasia. It's a primer to help the teenager in his bedroom not have that teenager in his bedroom tone. Or, if u need a metal tone for one gig but don't wanna spend alot. This is the Rosetta Stone for the pro tone I wish I had back when I was 16:good pickups& overdriven tubes.
2. Demo: Antiquity/ 36th annv PAF
Exactly that, on a Blackstar Ht5 and, get this, an Epi LP 100 ( a.k.a beginners guitar). 70s Les Paul/ Marshall for cheapskates like me.
3. Seymour Duncan 59/Custom Hybrid demo (Halen Brown Sound)
See a grown man wank, wank, then wank some more. Do not watch if allergic to EVH. This one didn't come out very good- right before, i goosed the output so my amps preamp went from purr to scratch& hiss. I lost alot of the complex Telecaster type sound that you hear in Panama & Girl Gone Bad. I had originally planned to do this with an Alnico8- THAT is a killer pickup, easy to get a great tone. But the A5 is more complex, yet you have to tweak it just right on my crappo gear.
So if you have a gmail or youtube account, feel free to comment & criticize: I can take it, and the more informative comments will help dilute the impact when it gets hijacked by vicious verbal homophobic sexist racist bile about sodomy & other degradations.
P.S. I highly encourage the use of distortions & overdrives with real preamp tubes built in for that authentic organic tube character. Blackstar makes a bunch, Kerry King uses the Radial Tonebone, i think its called, & Seymour Duncan has a few great ones; one that barely changes your tone when u click it on, so u can revv it from there. They (S Dunc) also have a new Metal Mayhem version.
In demo 1 & 3, I use an Ibanez Tube King with a JJ 12ax7 preamp tube swapped in. Cheap but not ideal. Yet very effective

There, fixed y'er links! Also the 2nd link was a repost of the 59/custom hybrid, not the Ant/36th paf.

Foolishly, I neglected to play it clean. Even ony my crappo guitar, the C/59 hybrid puts out a very high end, state of the art tone. If you're eyes were closed & heard the clean twang, chime, body & sustain, you would not picture a runofthemill Asian shredstick. The hybrid really is wide & 3-D.
