    Yeah, don't spoil that beauty. Nothing looks better than a stock nickel cover. As long as you like Silverburst, not a single change is needed IMO (except maybe undoing the top-wrapped tailpiece the next time you change strings).

    I don't know, I like the fact that it is a custom guitar that DOESN'T have EMG's. Don't get me wrong, I like EMG, I've had 81's and now I have HZ-H4's, but everyone and thier goldfish uses them. It kinda takes the uniqueness out of it and (except for guitar/amp settings) makes everyone sound the same.

    Those are really awesome explorers. A local shop had one and I played it often. Wanted it bad lol. Congrats man!

    That's probably my favorite Explorer model of all time. I wouldn't change a thing. Burstbucker 1/2 is Gibson's best current pickups....essentially PAF's. They seem a tad low in output till you get used to them and realize how great the tone is.

    I liked your PG Fireman a lot, but I like this Explorer even more. I played one in Sam Ash half a year ago.

    Quality wise the Fireman is not in the same league as this Explorer.

    When Gibson gets it right they are STILL one of the best...and they got this one right. This guitar is amazing.
