Now he has a Classic 57 (same in the bridge). But he had a T-Top and a DF in the bridge.

I read somewhere that he changed in 95' or so.

    That sounds like a possibility
Makes you wonder though, why he opted for low-output ones
    after the Dirty Fingers?

And why he switched to JCM 800s, after using the Mesas.

    Jcm800s rule!!
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

No idea. But modded 800s, right?

And his tone is always impressive, killer player for sure.

His LP Custom had Gibson Dirty Fingers in the bridge and the stock T-top in the neck back in the day. He replaced the DF in the early 2000's i think with a '57 classic when the DF failed from years of wear and tear. When Gibson put out the reissue of his LPC, it had DF bridge, '57 classic neck

and as far as his Marshalls. He mainly uses old 4 input 1959 JCM800's live and yes they are heavily modded! his main 4 input 800 head has a gain mod done by jose arrendondo (sp?)

is there any info on when he put in the DF? Tygers-days? Lizzy? or even earlier?
I'm kinda wondering about the Marshall/Mesa thing too... Listening to
his live work with Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake('84-'85ish) his tone doesn't sound
so sharp and gainy as it did on '87.

Get that pickup height in the sweet spot, hit a tube amp with a tube screamer, and you're cryin in the rain!

Just pulled the trigger on a DF
The neck pickup will be a later issue
I might go with the A5 Invader I already have, or put the A5 back in the
'59n and put it back together
